Established contact lens wearers are charged $20 (in addition to the normal exam charge) which covers the extra time involved in evaluating the curvature of the cornea and tear layer needed for lens wear. This fee also covers follow-up visits within 60 days of exam, as needed, to ensure safe, comfortable lens wear.

New contact lens patients will be charged $40 (in addition to the normal exam charge) which includes the initial training session for instruction of contact lens insertion and removal. A one-week follow-up visit is included in the charge to make sure the new lens wearer is adapting properly, and they are comfortable with the lenses.

A follow-up visit for evaluation of new lenses on the eye, which have been special ordered, may be necessary to finalize the prescription. A written contact lens prescription is available after finalization of the prescription.

Exchange of lenses

Disposable lenses – defective or torn lenses can be replaced at no charge (up to 3 per year). Unopened boxes of lenses can be exchanged if returned within 60 days of purchase.

Gas permeable lenses – lenses can be exchanged under warranty at no charge within 60 days of purchase.

Conventional soft lenses – lenses can be exchanged under warranty of defective, at no charge, within 60 days of purchase.

Frames – Two replacement frames will be allowed under the Warranty Policy with $5.00 shipping and handling fee for each replacement. Drilled rimless frames will be charged $10.00 in addition to regular warranty replacement fee for the remounting of each lenses. At no extra charge to our patients most frames are warranted against manufacturers defects and breakage associated with normal wear (warranty is voided if any solder or glue is applied to the frame you are returning, also all frame parts must be returned).

Lenses – Lenses purchased with a scratch coating come with a one year warranty against scratching under normal wear. Single vision replacement fee is $5.00 per lens and may be replaced one time within one year, bifocal replacement is $10.00 per lens and may be replaced one time within one year.

Progressive Lenses – If you can not adapt to the no-line bifocal there is a one-time no-charge remake. Your remake can be made as a lined bifocal, a distance only correction or a reading only lens. If returned within 30 days of final dispense. Cost difference will not be refunded.
